(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Julianne Hough says she was too sexy when she was a young dancer.

The 23-year-old singer and actress is starring in upcoming film Footloose where she plays a rebellious daughter of a preacher who loves to dance.

She says that she can identify with her character's struggle as she butted heads with her own father when she was a young performer.

"Mine were supportive of everything that I wanted to do," she said of her parents before adding with a laugh, "Even when I was too sexy for a seven-year-old."

"They supported it but some of the costumes my dad was like, Do you have to show your stomach?' And I am like, Dad, it's just dancing!'"

The actress got her big break as a professional on Dancing With The Stars but is now successfully making the move onto the big screen.

She will also appear with Tom Cruise and Russell Brand in upcoming film Rock of Ages. (C) Cover Media
