(Cover) - EN Star Style - Kanye West says it upsets him when people from the fashion industry look down on musicians.

The rap star is a famously keen follower of fashion, and regularly makes an appearance on the front rows of runway shows in Europe and America.

He has even ventured into the realm of designing himself, having unveiled his first shoe collection for French fashion house Louis Vuitton last year.

Despite his success in the field, Kanye feels people from the world of haute couture dont take him seriously as a designer, even though he thinks fashion and music require similar skills.

"Fashion completely parallels with music. Fashion people look down on musicians," he complained in an interview with GQ.com. "They look down on celebrities.

Kanye insists he doesnt attend designer shows in a bid to gain recognition, explaining he actually goes for creative purposes. The star thinks fashion is a genuine art form, so he doesnt want to wait and see designs once they have filtered through to department stores.

I don't care about whether I sit on the front row - I want to see art in its purest form [before] a Barneys buyer separated it out, he added. (C) Cover Media
