(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kat Von D is apparently losing her hair.

The 29-year-old LA Ink star has started to wear wigs because her own hair is falling out due to stress, it is claimed.

RadarOnline are reporting that breaking up and getting back together with fianc Jesse James and having her reality show cancelled took an emotional and physical toll on the tattoo artist in recent months.

"Kat totally has bald spots and it's from stress," an insider told the site. "It's worse than anyone her age should have."

"The combination of all the treatments she does to her hair and stress have finally caught up with her. She's started ordering wigs along with hair pieces and extensions she already uses."

Kat started dating Jesse just six months after his infamous split with Hollywood star Sandra Bullock on the back of his cheating scandal.

She and Jesse broke off their engagement in July when it was reported he had cheated on her but they rekindled their relationship a short time later.

"I feel really bad for her because the bald spots are horrible," the insider added. "The stress of losing her hair is only stressing her out more and making it worse!" (C) Cover Media
