(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katie Holmes is terrified of public bathrooms and raccoons.
The actress is currently promoting her film Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, which was written by Guillermo del Toro. It's a horror movie about a girl who finds strange creatures living in her father's home, and has got Katie thinking about her greatest fears.
"I'm afraid of raccoons and mice," she told FOX411's Pop Tarts. "I get scared of them. And public bathrooms."
Guillermo deadpanned: "With men's public bathrooms, you'd lose your mind. There's stuff on the walls that shouldn't be there. How did it get there? Six feet above the walls!"
In the movie, a little girl Sally has trouble convincing her father Alex, portrayed by Guy Pearce, and his partner Kim, Katie's character, that something untoward is going on.
Katie has five-year-old daughter Suri with her husband Tom Cruise and insists she would always take her word seriously, even if what she was saying seemed farfetched.
"I try to just talk everything through [with Suri] so I'm not missing anything, so I can try to help. As parents you try every day, but it's still all a mystery," she explained. "You're learning on the job. If your child is waking up from a nightmare, you just have to calm them down and figure out why. What if it is something really silly, like a light in the corner that you left on and it is making these images. Or it could be a little more complicated than that. You love that person so much that you don't want to screw it up." (C) Cover Media
