(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Keira Knightley says she enjoys walking a tightrope when taking on a new film role.

The gorgeous British actress has enjoyed success with movies such as Bend it Like Beckham, Pride & Prejudice and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Keiras latest big screen outing sees her portray extrovert Ruth in an adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguros novel Never Let Me Go. She admits getting to grips with the character was a challenge because she is so different from her.

I didnt like my character Ruth and I didnt know how to play her. I wanted to be challenged. I think its important to walk a tightrope and to have the possibility of falling flat on your face, the 25-year-old told Total Film magazine. That makes it exciting for me.

Although Keira disliked her character, she felt a strong connection to the complex themes that run through the story.

She thinks that all moviegoers will be able to appreciate the universal worries about love and being wanted.

Its a love story about our mortality and how we choose whats important in the brief time we have, she explained. (C) Cover Media
