(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kelly Rowland has revealed her "business sense" is sharper since turning 30.
The songstress shot to fame as a founding member of the R&B group Destiny's Child with her childhood friend Beyonc Knowles. The pair have both gone on to have hugely successful solo careers, with Kelly revealing a more mature image in her videos for hits such as When Love Takes Over and Commander.
The beautiful singer, who was recently announced as a judge on the panel of UK's X Factor, says turning 30 was a milestone in her career and led to her being more comfortable in her own skin.
"I have a newfound confidence. I just turned 30 this year and it feels really liberating. I feel that I've come into my own. I'm confident in my voice," she confessed in an interview with Hip Hop Weekly. "That's where my business sense has picked up. Every artist kinda has to manage himself. It's fine to have someone there, but it needs to be a partnership. I realise for me, that this is the best thing at this point in my life. I'm working with Devyne Stephens and Timmy Witherspoon, and we tag team off each other."
Kelly says she values her "scary" friendship with fellow singer Brandy. The stunning star is desperate to collaborate with the vocalist because they "understand" each other so well.
"Brandy and I wanna go into the studio together. We're actually trying to make that work. Our new thing that we do is riffs back and forth. We have fun together that's the coolest thing about our friendship together it's natural," she revealed. "We just started being friends and we love each other. We understand each other. It's scary when we're together." (C) Cover Media
