Khlo Kardashian cuts ties with PETA

27th March 2012

Khlo Kardashian has voiced her "disappointment" in an animal rights group that she once supported following an attack on her sister Kim.

The reality star hit out at the People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) yesterday after it surfaced that the person who threw flour over Kim last week had close ties to the organisation.

Khlo had posed for the charity in their popular "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign and helped to promote their cause.

"I've just received word that the woman responsible has very close ties to PETA, despite PETA publicly stating otherwise," Khlo wrote on her blog.

"Not only has PETA lied to the public, but they have proved that they support this kind of behaviour.

"I've been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me. As you all know, I don't condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that."

Kim was promoting her new perfume at a hotel in Hollywood when the incident happened and now says she is considering taking legal action against her assailant.

"Everyone is entitled to their own belief and opinions," Khlo added. "I personally don't wear fur but that doesn't mean I am going to force my views on anyone else, ESPECIALLY by violating them."

PETA responded in a statement to RadarOnline saying that they appreciate Khlo is "just defending her sister."

"If one of our volunteers is responsible, it doesn't alter the fact that no animal deserves to be electrocuted, shot, or poisoned for a bit of fur clothing," the statement said.
