(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kings of Leon have cancelled the remainder of their US tour.

The American rock band has released a statement saying they will not continue due to health issues concerning lead singer Caleb Followill.

The group have been hitting the headlines after a series of concerts were postponed and another cancelled this weekend, but now the whole US tour has been called off.

"We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are cancelling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion," the statement from the group's representative read.

"The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break.

"Unfortunately, the US dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band's international tour schedule."

The rep for the band said that tickets would be refunded and the band will resume touring in Canada on September 28.

The successful family group comprises of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew.

On Friday Caleb left the stage in Dallas with three songs still left to play saying that he didn't have "a voice".

He was said to be suffering from "heat exhaustion and dehydration" which caused his "vocal chords to seize". (C) Cover Media
