(Cover) - EN Star Style - Lily Allen insists "none" of the models and pop stars she's hung out with achieve their svelte frames healthily.
The singer has had a high-profile battle with her weight. She has been many sizes over the years, and several months ago admitted she had suffered from an eating disorder. The star explained what made that period in her life worse was that many people were praising her shrinking frame, even though she knew what she was doing was unhealthy.
Lily hasn't named anyone, but says the intense scrutiny celebrities are under means many go to crazy lengths to get the perfect body.
"I hang out with models, the biggest pop stars, and you know, really and honestly, I hate saying this, but none of them are achieving those body shapes by being healthy," she told the August edition of UK magazine Elle. "They aren't going to the gym two hours a day. They're not eating or they're taking [illegal drug] speed not to eat. In America everyone abuses that Aderall stuff and people aren't normal. You can't have a normal conversation with those people."
Lily still struggles her body confidence issues. She knows she used to be wreaking havoc with her body, but admits enjoying being able to fit into anything she wanted when she was super slim.
"I loved it when I was really skinny and I could just chuck on things," she admitted. "I felt a bit more not confident because I wasn't confident, but I guess confident in these clothes." (C) Cover Media
