(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jennie Garth admits that she is going through a rough "transitional time".

The 40-year-old mother-of-three's estranged husband, Twilight star Peter Facinelli, filed for divorce nearly five months ago after 11 years of marriage.

The pair share three children together daughters Fiona, five, Lola, nine and Luca, 14.

Jennie has lost a significant amount of weight in the months following their split.

She attributes her new smaller frame to a fragile mental state.

"I've been certainly going through a transitional time in my life and I think anybody who has been through something like what I'm going through, and have been going through for the past couple years can definitely relate that your body changes with your emotional state of mind sometimes. I think a lot of women can relate to that," Jennie told ET Canada.

The actress is intent on getting her children into the habit of eating salubrious meals.

"It's been summer, there's lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, we have so many fruits at our ranch where we've been living, so eating healthy, especially with three girls, body image is something that I try to set a good example for them," Jennie explained.

"Everyone of my girls is a different size and shape and I want them to be comfortable in their own skin and be healthy minded as well as physically." (C) Cover Media
