Lindsay Lohan hit-and-run case dismissed

5th May 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan will not be prosecuted for an alleged hit-and-run.

The 25-year-old actress was accused of grazing the knee of a bar manager while leaving Sayers Club in Hollywood in March at the wheel of her black Porsche.

A police spokesperson said from the outset that there was "no evidence of a crime or a hit-and-run" but the alleged victim went to hospital and pressed charges anyway.

TMZ reports that prosecutors didn't believe the manager's story.

A Los Angeles County District Attorney's office rejection notification read that the man was a "non-credible" witness who was uncooperative with law enforcement. He apparently refused to show medical records that he claims he obtained from a hospital visit in relation to the purported incident.

Police officers noted that surveillance footage depicts "no collision."

Lindsay is also facing potential charges on a separate assault.

Marisa Dugas claims that Lindsay physically attacked her at The Standard Hotel in Los Angeles Thursday April 5. Lindsay has denied that she was anywhere near the club that night, but Radar Online reports that surveillance video was uncovered placing Lindsay at the scene.

According to the website prosecutors have found "compelling evidence" to charge Lindsay with assault as "three very solid and credible witnesses" have stepped forward with their testimony.

Official charges have not yet been filed in Marisa's case against the actress. (C) Cover Media
