(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lionel Richie has revealed he was terrified of the elephant he arranged to attend daughter Nicoles wedding.

The 61-year-old soul singer famously organised for a special guest to be present at 29-year-old Nicoles star-studded marriage to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden back in December.

The nuptials took place at Lionels Los Angeles estate, with the crooner admitting he wasnt fond of having such a large exotic animal in his home.

I don't know where the elephant came from. All I know is I was terrified when it walked in and I was just glad when they came and picked it up, the star is quoted as saying.

Lionel apparently told Nicole she could have one elephant present on her wedding day, and revealed he would be happy to give Nicole and Joels children Harlow, three, and Sparrow, 16 months, pet elephants one day too. Nicole had always dreamt of a safari-themed wedding, so Lionel helped contribute to making her wish a reality.

"The big day came and she still wanted them so I said, 'Choose one for the wedding and you can have the other two for the babies one day', he laughed.

"Ever since Nicole was four-years-old she said she would have an elephant, a giraffe and a zebra at her wedding." (C) Cover Media
