Liv Tyler terrified by jail visit

25th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Liv Tyler was inspired by a fierce man she saw at a prison in her latest movie.

The actress plays Shauna in new film The Ledge, about a man who threatens to jump from a high rise building. Much of the release was shot in a real jail, which Liv found petrifying. She recalled seeing one inmate in particular who left her with chills.

The door next to the door I had to walk through in one scene was right next to the solitary confinement door with a little glass window and the first cell of eight was a man just standing there, looking so fierce. Not moving, she is quoted as saying. He was one of the most terrifying humans I have ever seen in my entire life. Of course, I asked about his story and he shook me up a little bit.

The jail which was used for shooting is in Louisiana. Once Liv, 33, got over her initial terror she found experiencing life behind bars interesting.

It had a lasting effect on her, and she knows its something she will never be able to forget.

We were in a real prison in Louisiana, which is quite a scary place to be, she added. (C) Cover Media
