(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mandy Moore says voicing the character of a Disney princess was a dream come true.
The American star lends her tone to Princess Rapunzel in new animated film Tangled, which follows Rapunzel as she goes on an adventure with a mysterious man. Mandy was thrilled when she got confirmation of the part as she has wanted to be in a Disney story ever since she was a little girl.
I think its really every young girls dream to be a Disney princess, she enthused. Growing up being obsessed with the Little Mermaid and Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast and singing all those songs, to find myself in the studio with [composer] Alan Menken, recording these songs for the film and trying to encompass Rapunzel... it was such a dream.
The star loves the new twist the movie has given to the classic tale, about a woman with long hair who is trapped in a tower. Zachary Levi and Ron Perlman also voice characters, and the whole experience was fun to be part of.
Mandy thinks the film will appeal to people of all ages, explaining it is something she is very proud of.
Rapunzel is a young woman who is on the eve of her 18th birthday, becoming an adult and really coming into her own, she explained to People. She finds herself in a situation where shes able to go beyond the tower walls and see these beautiful lights that she sees every year on her birthday and ends up on this crazy adventure with this young man that she potentially has a romantic interest in. She really just comes into her own. (C) Cover Media
