(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michelle Williams says she "still feels" Marilyn Monroe at times.
The American actress portrays the icon in My Week with Marilyn, a big screen adaptation of the Hollywood beauty's life.
The film is based on two books by Colin Clark and focuses on the week in which Marilyn spent time being escorted around Britain by Clark, after her husband, Arthur Miller, left the country. The movie hones in on the difficult relationship Marilyn and Sir Laurence Olivier shared while making The Prince and the Showgirl.
Michelle felt a kin to the star after playing her in the drama movie.
"She still kicks around. I still feel her sometimes," she told OK! magazine at the film's world premiere at The New York Film Festival.
Michelle wanted to bring herself closer to the late blonde bombshell. The 31-year-old star followed Marilyn's exact footsteps during shooting.
"There were so many little parallels along the way that sort of gave you courage," she explained. "My dressing room in Pinewood was the same dressing room that she used. Parkside House where we shot was the real Parkside House."
Michelle has previously revealed how desperate she was to land the role as soon as she read the script. The blonde star set about preparing immediately after landing the part.
"I'd go to bed every night with a stack of books next to me," she previously revealed.
"And I'd fall asleep to movies of her. It was like when you were a kid and you'd put a book under your pillow hoping you'd get it by osmosis." (C) Cover Media
