(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Miley Cyrus has been seen chain smoking while on holiday in Michigan.

The 18-year-old singer was pictured lighting up cigarette after cigarette while lazing around in her bikini at Orchard Lake, according to RadarOnline.

She is apparently enjoying some down time with on/off boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and spent much of the weekend playing with her puppies and enjoying boat trips.

The former Hannah Montana star took to her Twitter page to share her movements which she said included drinking coffee and watching a marathon of episodes of MTV reality show Jersey Shore.

Although at 18 Miley is legally allowed to smoke, it is thought to be a disappointment for young fans who consider her a role model. The singer also stirred up controversy recently when she sparked a Twitter debate over her new equal rights tattoo. She has two lines, known as an equal sign, tattooed on her finger, and captioned the image "All love is equal".

Miley got the new ink in her support of same sex marriage and for gay rights but received a deluge of negative messages.

"I said on [Twitter] that I believed in gay marriage because everyone should have the right to love each other," she explained. "I got such hate mail about being a bad person.

The new body art is Miley's seventh tattoo, among the others are a heart on another finger, the word love tattooed behind her ear and a dream catcher on her rib cage. (C) Cover Media
