No Akshay v/s Akshay clash here

26th September 2010

September 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): With Farah Khan announcing that the first promo of 'Tees Maar Khan' would be unveiled only on Diwali, it is crystal clear that she has no plans to expose her film to the audience around the same time when promotion of 'Action Replayy' would be on full swing. Both films star Akshay Kumar in lead and though some feared that being a huge film, 'Tees Maar Khan' may well reveal itself to the audience earlier than later, the makers of 'Tees Maar Khan' are refraining from doing that.

This would mean a far better situation when compared to last year when multiple films starring some top actors were releasing so close to each other that their promos were running almost simultaneously.

Says a trade follower, "Last year for Salman Khan, 'Wanted', 'Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna' and 'London Dreams' came dangerously close to each other, so much so that even the superstar made a statement - 'Even I would be bored to see so many of my films together in theaters, then why should we blame the audience.' There wasn't much gap between Ajay Devgn's 'All The Best' and 'London Dreams' either. Even Sanjay Dutt had 'Blue' and 'All The Best' releasing on the same day with 'Aladin' following close by.

Ranbir Kapoor was also seen frantically promoting 'Wake Up Sid', 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' and 'Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year' - all coming in a row. Kareena Kapoor's 'Kurbaan', 'Main Aurr Mrs Khanna' and '3 Idiots' released in quick succession. Also, earlier this year Shah Rukh Khan's 'My Name Is Khan' came just a month after 'Dulha Mil Gaya' and the superstar wisely decided to stay clear from the latter. As can be seen, not just the promotion of most of these films overlapped, it also made audiences make clear choices, as evidenced in box office reception to these films."

No wonder, the makers of 'Tees Maar Khan' have already drawn out their marketing and promotional plan which would start taking action post the release of 'Action Replayy'.

"We are totally sure about that", confirms Shirish Kunder, the film's producer who is neck deep into the post production of 'Tees Maar Khan', shooting of which is almost complete, "What's the point in releasing your promos when your star's other film is nearing it's release? 'Action Replayy' is a major film for Akshay and it should get a clean run into theaters."
