(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Paris Hilton has confirmed her split from Cy Waits, although insists she still loves him.

The 30-year-old reality TV star announced she is no longer with her boyfriend after sources close to Paris yesterday insisted the couple were in fact still an item.

Reports surfaced recently that the socialite and her entrepreneur boyfriend had called time on their romance, which began around a year ago. A source claimed the pair's relationship had "hit a rough patch" and they had "broken up", although Paris' representative had no comment.

In an interview with Lopez Tonight, Paris confirmed she has parted ways with Cy, 34.

"We're not together anymore," she told George Lopez. "I love him and we remain really good friends...I feel like the relationship ran its course and we'll see what happens."

Paris' representative Dawn Miller confirmed the split. She insisted that the decision was a mutual one and the pair will remain friends.

"I can confirm that Paris Hilton and Cy Waits have ended their relationship," she stated. "It was a joint and amicable decision. They both have respect and care for one another and ask for you to please respect their privacy."

A friend close to Paris says that she still has a great deal of respect for her former lover. However, revealed that the celebrity was not ready to take the relationship any further.

"Paris still thinks of Cy as a great influence on her life," the friend revealed to People, "but she's just not ready for the next step in a relationship."

Paris and Cy began dating in late Spring last year, not long after the heiress split from The Hills star Doug Reinhardt, who she had been romancing on and off for just over a year.

The pair had not been seen together since June 3, when they attended an event in Las Vegas together. (C) Cover Media
