Either politician or criminals are finding space in Kannada films off late. It was Ramakrishna Hegde as chief minister of state appeared in two films 'Marana Mridanga and Prajashakthi' in prominent role. Later lot of politicians made guest appearances in Kannada films. In a film like 'Avasthe' in 1987 five ministers appeared on the screen. Former JDS chief minister Kumaraswamy is a known producer and he appeared in guest role of 'Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe' and he was CM on screen in 'Sivakashi' Kannada film. Former information minister Khatta Subramania Naidu acted in 'Lift Kodla', in 'Devanahalli' former minister Shivaraj Thangadagi and legislator Vishwanath have made guest appearance. Now coming to criminals of the past in 'Kariya' Kannada film half a dozen reformed rowdies appeared on screen. Agni Sridhar directed the film 'Thamassu' and films were made on criminals and reformed criminals appeared here and there. Now in '5 Idiots' former don Jedarahalli Krishna is appearing on screen as HM Krishnamurthy. A film on 'Jedarahalli Krishnappa' is also booked as a title in KFCC. The reformed don himself is doing the title role.
