If one can recall it was hit South Indian filmmaker Prabhu Dheva who revived the action-commercial genre in Bollywood with his film 'Wanted' starring Salman Khan in the lead. The film bought the focus back on the commercial cinema and got the 'action' genre a new lease of life.
Many touted him to be a one-film wonder until his second 'Rowdy Rathore' scored more than 100 crores at the box office. The success of his film re-instilled belief in his caliber and it is this back to back success that has made him feel accepted.
"I'm happy that I've finally established myself as a successful filmmaker in Bollywood. Before I started making films for Bollywood, I had apprehensions. But after all, sensibilities throughout the country are pretty much the same. We all need romance, comedy, action, emotions," added a smiling Prabhu who however added that success for him goes beyond BO collections.
"I never ask about my film collections. If I like the film, that's enough for me. I have friends who keep me abreast about the box office collections. That's enough information for me," added Prabhu, who apparently is currently in talks with Shahid Kapoor for his next Hindi film.
