Queen Latifah says "a lot" of manufacturers "don't respect" full-figured women.
The 41-year-old star has created a new clothing range for Home Shopping Network (HSN) which is available in sizes 2 to 24. She was determined to ensure her collection was made in larger sizes to represent the more curvaceous lady.
Latifah was unhappy with the market before her own clothing line was unveiled.
"A lot of manufacturers don't respect the curvaceous woman. They don't respect our dollar or our shape," she told the January edition of Essence magazine.
Latifah is glad to have HSN on side. The star real name Dana Elaine Owens - says they understand her vision when it comes to providing fashion for the fuller-figured woman.
"[It's] been such a great partnership," she gushed. "I'm happy to make women's clothing I really like."
Latifah is known for branching out into a wide range of industries including singing, acting, designing and hosting. Her varying ventures have led many to draw comparisons between herself and Oprah Winfrey.
"People say I'm going to be the next Oprah," she explained. "No. Oprah is still Oprah. I'll be the next me. I feel like there's always a lane for me as long as I'm true to myself."
