Football, a sport that is famous in India and abroad, is very big among the actors in Bollywood as well.

Though stars might be busy with their professional life, a few do take the time out to practice the sport and one such ardent fan of football is Ranbir Kapoor. Recently, the actor played a charity match with co-stars Abhishek Bachchan and others against the Indian cricket team (view gallery).

It was during that match itself, when United Sikkim Football Club's captain Baichung Bhutia approached Ranbir to be the brand ambassador for their club and he happily agreed.

"I approached him with the proposal of getting associated with United Sikkim after the charity football match involving Indian cricketers and actors in New Delhi last Saturday. And he accepted it," Bhutia said.

Proud and happy about the same, he further added, "We are proud to unveil Ranbir Kapoor as our brand ambassador. We have known each other for quite sometime. He is a keen follower of football."

Ranbir who is a self-proclaimed Barcelona fan, had earlier promoted Catalan club in India.
