(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ray Winstone thinks his gangster character in London Boulevard has a crush on Colin Farrell.
In the new British movie, Ray plays Gant, a vicious mob boss who tries to force Mitchell played by Colin to work for him after he is released from prison. Even though Rays character is violent and macho, he is convinced Gant secretly harbours romantic feelings for Mitchell.
I am a gangster, Colins character comes out of prison and I want him to work with me, I dont know for what reason I probably half fancy him, Ray said in an interview with This Morning. Yeah, I think there was a bit of that going on within the movie. I want to bring him on board, but he doesnt want to know. He is a dangerous man and I need him with me rather than being against me.
London Boulevard is directed by William Monahan who wrote the script for Oscar-winning gangster movie The Departed. Ray was thrilled to team up with Monahan again on the British-based film and believes the new movie is classy.
The 53-year-old was proud to be involved in the film and work alongside such an impressive cast but admits he still hasnt seen the final version yet.
Keira Knightley is also in it and she is fabulous. David Thewlis, Anna Friel and Ben Chaplin it is a great cast, Ray added. I havent seen the film yet, but I am hoping to see it next week. (C) Cover Media
