Reese Witherspoon is "very excited" about welcoming her third child.

The Hollywood star has two kids 12-year-old Ava and Deacon, eight with her ex Ryan Phillippe.

The actress has been rumoured to be pregnant with husband Jim Toth's first child since March,

Reese kept mum on the subject, until she confirmed her condition in Chicago over the weekend.

"Frankly, I'm feeling very round tonight. [I'm] very excited," she said to the Chicago Sun Times at During An Evening with Reese Witherspoon event hosted at the Ritz-Carlton.

While Reese is in the Windy City she will try to abstain from eating deep-dish pizza, the town's signature food.

"Maybe, but it's not easy. I'm always feeling like I'd like to eat everything in sight!" she laughed.

Reese is currently filming Devil's Knot in Atlanta.

"It's about a crime that occurred in 1993," she revealed. "It happened in Arkansas, and it's what I'd say is a very American story. And, after I finish that, I'm going to take a little time off -- and go have a baby!"
