(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Reese Witherspoon's father is being sued by her mother for bigamy.

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Witherspoon filed papers in Davidson County, Tennessee this week seeking to have his new marriage annulled.

John tied the knot with Tricianne Taylor in January but Betty says the union is not lawful because he is still legally married to her.

John, 70, and Tricianne, 60, applied for their marriage licence three days before their ceremony on January 14.

Betty claims in her lawsuit, filed against John and Tricianne, that she still loves her husband does not want to get a divorce.

Betty lives in a condo in Nashville owned by her Hollywood actress daughter and says that she fears for "my husband's personal safety and the safety of my family."

Reese, 36, is expecting her first child with husband Jim Toth after tying the knot last March. She has two children; Ava and Deacon, from her first marriage to Ryan Phillippe. (C) Cover Media
