Rekha takes a dig at Big B

17th September 2014

One of the most talked about relationships of Bollywood is that equation between superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha which didn't last. Though the two never talked about their on-off screen chemistry, the two are one of the most famous couples of B-town.

But due to the controversies revolving around their equation, they didn't work together after Yash Chopra's Silsila in 1981. The two have not been on talking terms for last couple of decades but have been cordial with each other on social fronts.

But now it seems that Rekha has decided to break the ice as she will be soon seen imitating Big B onscreen. She plays Sharman Joshi's grandmother in Indra Kumar's 'Super Nani' and in a particular sequence, imitates Big B's signature moves.

Sharman Joshi's character decides to change his old-fashioned nani into a modern granny. After the transformation as the modern nani, Rekha's character is flooded with acting offers, amongst which one is that of an ad with Big B.

It is in this scene that she copies Amitabh's style. Though Amitabh Bachchan is not there in the film, the scene is touted to be one of the best in the film.

"The scene you refer to is a part of the story, wherein we witness Rekhaji's transformation and her entry into the modelling world, following which she is offered prestigious TV commercials. When we approached her with this scene in which she had to imitate Mr Bachchan's famous mannerisms, which we felt would add a fun element to the story, she sportingly agreed. We have shot it in a humorous way," said filmmaker Indra Kumar.
