Ryan Seacrest details elbow surgery

30th March 2012

Ryan Seacrest reveals that his recent surgery was "very easy and practically noninvasive."

The 37-year-old presenter tore a tendon in his elbow recently and sorely needed it repaired.

Ryan bravely underwent surgery on Wednesday without being sedated.

"[I] couldn't look [at what was happening], but [I could feel] the pressure," Ryan explained on his On Air radio show Thursday. "It was very easy and practically noninvasive."

Ryan thought the procedure would be snappy, but was surprised to find that the operation took way longer than he anticipated.

"I didn't calculate suturing into my schedule," he revealed. "I thought it was an in-and-out, 12-minute procedure. The surgery lasted a few hours, though."

Ryan didn't suffer much, as he didn't actually go under the knife.

"I had a probe stuck into my right elbow," he explained. "They went in with a tiny little probe and they scraped some scar tissue from the tendon, because I tore the tendon from working out."

Ryan is recuperating rapidly and will be hosting American Idol's results show Thursday evening.
