Sacha Baron Cohen has jokingly congratulated Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on her "blood diamond jubilee" this year.

The comic actor plays fictional leader Admiral General Aladeen in upcoming film The Dictator. Sacha has released a new promotional trailer for the movie in the UK, which controversially pokes fun at the country's monarch as well as Prince Charles.

"I would like to congratulate your dictatoress Elizabeth on her blood diamond jubilee and I hope it is a smooth transition when her son Charles eventually kills her and seizes power," he says in the clip, in reference to the queen's diamond jubilee celebrations this summer.

Sacha sits on a chair surrounded by gun-wielding characters in the film trailer's introduction and is later seen launching his own Olympics ceremony.

His character wins a race by shooting his opponents and consequently claims 14 gold medals.

Sacha caused controversy at the Oscars earlier this year dressed as the character.

The star enjoyed a much-anticipated arrival following a rumoured ban from the awards ceremony.

The Hollywood funnyman didn't disappoint with an unexpected accessory, which he claimed were the ashes of the late North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il.

Ryan Seacrest was his victim, who he spilt the "pancake batter" all over.

"When someone asks you who you are wearing, you can say Kim Jong-il," Sacha deadpanned to the television presenter.
