Sanjay Dutt, who is serving his prison term in Pune's Yerawada jail, has applied for a 14 day furlough.
A senior officer from the jail department confirmed the news and said, "The application is pending with the DIG. But will be granted and he will also get a 14-day extension. I don't see any reason why he will not apply for a parole after that. We will see what reason he cites this time."
Dutt being on parole and furlough on several occasions have sparked controversies in the town.
Earlier he was granted a month long break due to Manyata's poor health in December 2013. However, this time the reason is unknown for his furlough application.
The actor has spent almost 118 days out from the prison for some reason or the other from May 2013 to May 2014.
