The actor plays Britt Reid, a newspaper publisher who fights crime at night as masked superhero The Green Hornet in the new movie. He also wrote and executive produced the film, so cant wait to see how it is received by audiences.

Seth dropped 40lbs. for his part, but despite his new body shape he shied away from donning the usual superhero costume. I said 'no' all along to the tights and capes, he said, thumping a table for impact.

Well, I suppose I would have put the tights on, but only if there was some justification for it. I'm not averse to that. I've not been overly precious. As long as there's a general green feel to it, I felt good with it.

The Green Hornet is based on the popular radio and TV character who relies on his brilliant secretary Lenore Case and his martial arts expert sidekick Kato for help when battling bad guys. The fact the superhero needs a team behind him is one of the reasons Seth got involved with the project, as he and his writing partner Evan Goldberg have always been fascinated by the idea.

As nerds, we always wanted to do something about sidekick and hero because we figured 'sidekick' was the most demeaning term in the history of the universe. There's two people out there, risking their lives, getting shot at and one of them is a sidekick?! Seth laughed to British newspaper The Independent.

Ever since we were kids like the dorks we were and still are we dreamed of making one of these movies, and this seemed the perfect entry."
