Shatrughan awarded at IIFA

Bollywood veteran Shatrughan Sinha who has been a part of the industry for many decades now, was presented the lifetime achievement award at the recently concluded IIFA ceremony.

The 67-year-old Indian superstar was handed over the award by his daughter Sonakshi Sinha for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema. Sonakshi along with actor Anil Kapoor jointly presented the award to him.

Till date, Shatrughan has been a part of more than 200 Hindi, Punjabi and Bengali films. Mayor of Tampa Bay Bob Buckhorm joined Sonakshi and Anil to handover the award to him.

In his awards acceptance speech, the actor dedicated the award to the people of his birth land. "Patna, my birth place, is my strength as well as weakness...I am here today only because of love and affection of my people," said Sinha. 

Shatrughan is also an active politician and attended the IIFA ceremony amidst all the political activities in India. He is currently contesting Lok Sabha election from Patna Sahib seat in Bihar where voting took place on April 17.
