Rating: 3/5

His story, History

After their highly successful 'Annamayya' and 'Sri Ramadasu', 'Shirdi Sai' is the third devotional film brought by the combination of Nagarjuna and director K. Raghavendra Rao.

As expected, the two have made a commendable effort in chronicling the life of saint Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, who is worshipped by crores all over the world.

The story, which is a faithful adaptation of Sri Shirdi Sai Satcharita, revolves around a boy with no kith and kin, who transforms into Sai Baba, the Guru and God of millions.

Nagarjuna fits well into the attire of the baba and his transformation and performance turns out to be the biggest highlights of the film.

The actor should have done a lot of homework for the role and his hard work would create a lasting impact. While leaving the cinema hall, it's Nagarjuna's getup as Sai Baba that stands before our eyes.

Others in the cast, especially Shayaji Shinde and Srihari, have done their parts well. Brahmanandam, Sarath Babu, Srikanth and Saikumar too, do justice to their roles.

Gopal Reddy's cinematography takes us back to the past, and should be commended while Paruchuri Brothers' dialogues deliver the messages of Baba in a simple yet piognant way.

Kiravani's music is the other big highlight of the movie. It supports the film well. In short, Raghavendra Rao and Nagarjuna have once again proved that they are masters in spiritual films.
