Siddharth has bagged a meaty role, as he would play mathematics genius Srinivasa Ramanujam in a film to be directed by Roger Spottiswoode, who made the James Bond movie, Tomorrow Never Dies.
Titled The First Class Man, the film is not a bio pic on Srinivasa Ramanujam. Instead, it will deal with the friendship between the maths genius from India and English mathematician G H Hardy. 'Roger has gathered details from the history after immense pains,' sources say.
'Roger was thoroughly impressed by Siddharth’s performance in Rang De Basanti, which was recommended to him by one of his friends. He immediately decided that the actor should play Srinivasa Ramanujam in his next movie,'sources close to the development say.
In the meantime, Siddharth is currently busy with two projects. One is Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi, a Tamil rom-com directed by newcomer Balaji. The other is Deepa Mehta’s film adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s Booker winner Midnight’s Children.
