September 24, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): It was a couple of months ago when actor Silambarasan mentioned that he will be signing a big budget film by September. This morning, the actor has made official confirmations about the film titled 'Vettai Mannan'. The film will be produced by S.S. Chakravarthy under the banner of Nic Arts. Earlier, the duo was supposed to work on their other project titled Vaaliban. This film was supposed to be directed by Silambarasan himself and he was reported to be playing dual roles. However, the film was shelved at the last moment as Simbhu signed a couple of films at the same time.
'Vettai Mannan' will be directed by debutant Nelson and three heroines will be pairing with Silambarasan. Buzz is that a couple of Bollywood's leading actresses will be signed for this film, which will go on floors shortly.
The film will be shot across various parts of the United States of America, Mexico and Chennai. Simbhu's close buddy Yuvan Shankar Raja will score music and this is the fourth time, they are coming together again. Their previous films Manmadhan, Vallavan and Silambattam were tremendous hits.
Technicians from Hollywood are likely to be roped in for the film.
At the moment, Silambarasan has completed shooting the first schedule of Vaanam, a remake of Telugu movie Vedam. Another film titled Poda Podi that marks the debut of Sarath Kumar's daughter Varalakshmi is being shot in London.
