(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Simon Pegg has revealed he listens to his iPod Shuffle selection to inspire his screen writing.

The British actor, writer and director is best known for his starring roles in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and his portrayal of Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in the 2009 Star Trek film.

The 41-year-old star, who collaborates with Nick Frost and Edgar Wright for the majority of his work, is inspired by music and other films when it comes to penning his latest script.

"It's probably still films for me, really. I'm not a huge gamer anymore and I do watch TV, but I tend to watch documentaries. I love listening to scores. We love listening to music when we're writing, don't we?" he quipped to fellow writer Nick Frost.

Nick agreed that music features heavily in their creative process. The 39-year-old funny man has also revealed he avoids watching TV as it has a negative effect on him.

"Yeah, we listen to the iPod Shuffle. I get a little selection and you get a little selection," he explained in an interview with SciFi Now. "But yeah, music, other films I try not to watch TV now apart from box sets, because it makes me so terribly angry and depressed." (C) Cover Media
