20th December 2010

December 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): South Indian filmmaker Gautham Menon, who was planning to make his second Bollywood film by remaking his Tamil hit Vinnaithandi Varuvaya in Hindi. However, the situations seem to have gone against the filmmaker and he has reportedly shelved the project for time being.

Menon signed budding actor Prateik Babbar for his second Bollywood project but the actor has recently quit the movie because of some unknown reasons. The popular South filmmaker first tried his hand in Bollywood with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein in 2001. This was also R Madhavans first Hindi film as the lead hero.

Since then, Menon have continued to work only in Tamil and Telugu movies. But the fortune does not seem to favor him because so many issues are arising that are preventing to go ahead with the project. Even there were issues about the finalization of the female lead actress. Now, the makers are finding it tough to get proper replacement of the lead stars.

In the remake, Prateik was supposed to enact the role played by Silambarasan and British model Amy Jackson was reportedly set to pair opposite him. However, Amy was reportedly finding it tough to learn the typical Indian mannerisms and emotions.

In brief, there is no hope of Menon going ahead with the project as of now. We hope, he gets the proper replacements soon and fulfills his dream!
