The English actor is best known for his portrayal of the vampire Bill Compton in American television series True Blood. He has also landed a role in another horror title called Priest, which hits cinemas in 2011.
Stephen has revealed his biggest heroes are ageing, sullen stars one of whom, Jeff Bridges, indulged him at a film gathering once.
Jeff Bridges, Clint Eastwood and Tom Waits grizzly old f**kers, Stephen told Marie Claire magazine when asked who his idols are. I met Jeff Bridges at a movie convention. I said, Oh my God, I love you so much! and he said [in a laidback American accent], And I love you. He cant have had a clue who I was.
But the star is confident his career is on the up after True Blood was featured on the childrens series Sesame Street.
True Blood recently got parodied by Sesame Street you know youve arrived then. My character looks like Bert or Ernie with floppy hair, Stephen laughed.
Meanwhile, the 41-year-old has revealed hes terrified of losing his loved ones. Stephen admits he is a born worrier, but one prospect scares him more than anything else.
