Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman To go into a joint venture with Reliance Big Entertainment

October 4, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Tom Hanks, the Hollywood star, who has ventured into quite a few business ventures with business partner Gary Goetzman, who have own a joint business house Playtone, in the entertainment business in the last few years, has now come up with a winning idea to launch a sophisticated internet based animated series titled Electric City.

This animated series, will be a joint venture with the Indian business honcho, Reliance Big Entertainment, which plays a prominent role in media entertainment related business ventures the world over.

According to the report in The New York Times, it is a renewed activity in the field of episodic digital content.

Reportedly, Tom Hanks has gone on to say that he had the idea for Electric City nearly six years ago, and thought it would be something less gory than most things of the future are imagined to be like.

Further, reports suggest that the animated series will be of a 3 minute installment spread over a 20 minute time span, which will focus on more socially relevant issues like energy consumption, and the freedom of information.

According to Sify finance reports, Reliance Big has also deals coming up with firms of Nicholas Cage, Jim Carey, George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts.
However, with the launch of the animated series, a new branch of business avenues will open out for the franchisee holders too, as they can venture into graphic novels and even launching online games, as an option, suggest reports!
