Post the success of her recent women centric films like 'No One Killed Jessica' (2011), 'The Dirty Picture' (2011) and 'Kahaani' (2012), Vidya Balan was touted as the biggest star of recent times.
But since the very inception of her career she has been associated with films with meaningful roles for women. And this powerful trait of her stardom recently landed her in an awkward situation when she was suddenly been compared to Hollywood biggie Meryl Streep.
But Vidya being the humble star that she is, took the compliment in her stride, "It is very encouraging and thrilling to be compared to Meryl Streep. I feel humbled. But I feel I have a long way to go," said Vidya.
She accredited all her recent success to 'The Dirty Picture which also got her the National Award. "The Dirty Picture changed my life forever. It has given me so much. I can't thank Ekta and Milan Luthria enough," added Vidya.
