The journey while filming for 'Lootera' has been very difficult, expressed director Vikramaditya Motwane. After delivering the film 'Udaan' which received rave reviews by the critics, Vikramaditya is gearing up for his next film which is inspired by American author O. Henry's short story 'The Last Leaf'.

'Lootera' which is a period film set in the 1950s, was shot initially in Mumbai, but major portions of the movie were shot in Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh. And according to the director, the movie shoot wasn't a cake walk.

The 36-year-old expressed that the entire cast and crew were highly professional and accommodating. He also stated that lead stars Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh too did a wonderful job in the movie.

The director added that outdoor locations are certainly an important aspect of a movie, which helps with reflecting the true essence of the story especially when the backdrop is that of a period film. But the outdoor shoot schedules certainly come with its own set of challenges.

Vikramaditya further elaborated that it was not an easy task shooting in Dalhousie as the cast and crew had to visit the place multiple times to make sure everything was ok. There were times when the snow would clad the area and this would delay the shoot. In addition to that, Ranveer also got injured which certainly added to the set of problems.

Now that most of it is underway, the director still feels that the true test of the movie is that 'Friday' when it hits the theatres, which sets the tone for the crowd for the following days.

'Lootera' is expected to hit the big screen on July 5, 2013.
