Santhanam has come out with an explanation as to why he has been acting in more number of 'Wine Shop' scenes in the recent times. 'Because TASMAC outlets and the bars attached to them have become part and parcel of today's life,' he says.
The comedian, who said that he is only reflecting the society, adds 'Today, be it joy or sorrow, people go to wine shops. TASMAC centres have become an inevitable part of the routine. My films just reflect them.'
In the coming weeks, Santhanam will have two crucial releases. One is 'Kalakalappu @ Masala Cafe' directed by Sundar C. which has Vimal, Shiva, Anjali and Oviya in lead roles. Another is 'Ishtam' directed by Prem Nizar, which has Vimal in the lead.
'I have played interesting roles in both these movies. While 'Kalakalappu' features me as a local dhadha in a town in Western Tamil Nadu, 'Ishtam' has me playing the friend of the hero,' says Santhanam.
