Yash Raj Chopra is a renowned film director, screenwriter, and a highly successful Bollywood producer. 

With 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' being touted as the most-awaited 2012 film, this is just one of the many cherries on Yash Chopra's commendable career. 

'Waqt', 'Deewar', 'Kabhi Kabhie', 'Kaala Patthar', 'Silsila', 'Lamhe', 'Chandni', 'Darr', 'Dil To Pagal Hai','Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' and 'Veer-Zaara' are some of his highly popular movies - known for their exceptionally romantic sequences. 

The founder of Yash Raj films, Chopra has won the Filmfare Award for Best Director and the Filmfare Award for Best Movie four times each. 

The Government of India honoured him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2001 and the Padma Bhushan in 2005.

Brother and legendary director B.R. Chopra, gave Yash Chopra his first directorial opportunity in 'Dhool Ka Phool' (1959). Later he set up his own movie production company, Yash Raj Films, under which 'Daag' of 1973 was his first movie. 

After this he directed films with highly successful and popular actors like Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan. He also made films with highly popular and successful actresses like Hema Malini, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla and with these stars, all the movies began to be regarded as cult classics. The biggest example is Sridevi starer 'Chandni'. The film created a different image of Sridevi in the mind of the audience. 

Yash Chopra is a lot of things, he is a man who has conquered and explored it all, build bonds that will pass on for over a lifetime and has given the Hindi film fraternity, movies to remember long after generations have passed...
