Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer spy thriller 'Raazi' opens up dominating the box-office by whopping 32.94 cr in its first three days of the release. Playing the role of a Kashmiri young girl Sehmat who is married to a Pakistani military officer played by Vicky Kaushal and all the appreciation and praises are taken away by Alia.
Many critics, as well as her father Mahesh Bhatt himself, admitted that this is her best performance till date. It opened on Friday collecting 7.53 cr to Saturday 11.30 cr, and Sunday 14.11 cr a total of 32.94 cr. in its first weekend. This Meghna Gulzar directed film is based on Harinder Sikka's bestselling Novel 'Calling Sehmat'. Surely with word of mouth publicity the film could land up in the 100 cr club as well.
The 32 crore opening was enough to find Raazi a spot on the top 5 Bollywood openings of the year list. It follows 'Padmaavat' (Rs 114 crore), 'Baaghi 2' (Rs 73 crore), 'Raid' (Rs 41 crore) and 'PadMan' (Rs 40 crore).
Well-known filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani tweeted, "Saw #raazi. It's an outstanding film and @meghnagulzar a master storyteller. Watch it for a great story and amazing performances from @aliaa08 @vickykaushal09 and all others. Salutes @JungleePictures @karanjohar."
