An astonishing achievement for Luv Ranjan's directorial 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' that enters the 100 cr club just after the fourth-weekend from its release. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh this Bromance vs Romance comedy becomes the second film of 2018 to enter the 100 cr club after Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat'.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the official box-office numbers that read, ''Truly UNSTOPPABLE... cr and counting... #SonuKeTituKiSweety marches into ₹ 100 cr Club... Even though some critics called this an anti-woman film but this did not affect the film's box-office collection.
A success mantra behind Luv Ranjan's film can be its reliable cast that the director has been working with so long. This comedy packed film is the fourth collaboration of Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha after 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', 'Akaash Vani' and 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2'.
Earlier in an interview, Ranjan said, "We always knew we were making a film that would appeal to the youth. Critics called the film anti-women, misogynistic... But that didn't bother me. I was looking beyond the criticism."
Along the film the actors too entered the 100 crore league. Kartik who has won accolades for his work in his previous films has set a benchmark for the young actors with this one. He is one of the youngest actors whose film has made it to the 100 cr club.
His work as 'Sonu' has been applauded by both audiences and critics. The actor has been flooded with film offers after the release of 'Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety.' News in the industry is that Kartik is being approached by all the big league production houses in order to cash in on his phenomenal success and ever-growing loyal fan following.
Very few actresses get to be a part of this club, however, newbie Nushrat Bharucha is also a new entrant to join the successful club of 100 crore.
The film is still going strong and might just cross the 100 crore mark as well making Nushrat one of the rare newbie to boost of being part of a successful 100 crore film.
An industry source said, "Sonu Ke Titu ki Sweety is a case in point that industry needs to put their money on all kinds of promising talent like her who showcase young, new age and relatable characters and who can also take the BO by storm."
