(Cover) - EN Showbiz - 50 Cent has quit Twitter to work on his new album.

The rapper took over his account on the social networking site last week. It had previously been run by his management team as a promotional tool, but 50 decided he wanted to start posting messages himself.

For the past week, he has written dozens of amusing and often obscene messages on the site, averaging more than 60 posts a day. The number of fans following 50’s feed has gone through the roof, but the star has now announced that he will not be posting any more messages until September 6 because he needs to finish writing his next album The Return of the Heartless Monster.

"Ok ladies and [gentlemen] I'm writing my new album. I will not be on twitter again till Sept 6," he wrote. "This album will be a classic.”

50 revealed the name of his upcoming record on Twitter. He has refused to reveal further details, but Swizz Beatz has let slip that he is collaborating with 50 on several tracks on the new album. (C) Cover Media
