Ajith's forthcoming film Billa 2 has got a new heroine now. As Huma Qureshi, who was earlier roped in as the leading lady, is no more part of the multicrore venture due to some 'unavoidable reasons', Parvathy Omanakuttan has replaced her.
Parvathy, who won Femina Miss India World title in 2008, made her cinematic debut through the Bollywood flick United Six directed by Vishal Aryan Singh. She later signed a Malayalam film titled Madan Kolli by Major Ravi, in which she had to play dual roles; one that of a police officer and the other that of a vampire. In 2010 she appeared in Uma Maheshwaram.
According to sources close to the unit, both Parvathy and those behind the project are happy to work together. 'She was very good in the auditions and completely understood the subtle nuances of this pivotal role. She has a screen presence, and she will make a big debut in Kollywood with Billa 2'.
Directed by Chakri Toleti of Unnaipol Oruvan fame, Billa 2 is being shaped up fast in places like Hyderabad, Goa and Russia. A prequel to Ajith's earlier hit Billa, the film is expected to hit the screens on April 14 (Tamil New Year Day) or on May 1 (Ajith's birthday). Music is by Yuvanshankar Raja.
