(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Courteney Cox Arquette cheered on estranged husband David Arquette during his Dancing with the Stars debut last night.
The pair announced they were separating after 11 years of marriage last year. However, they have remained on good terms for the sake of their daughter and are regularly spotted together.
Courteney and seven-year-old Coco were in the audience on the dancing contest to lend their support to David on Monday. The actress hugged her daughter in the front row as the star and his professional dance partner Kym Johnson performed a Viennese waltz.
The American actor got a standing ovation from the audience, as well as a range of compliments from the judging panel.
"I was very impressed," said Len Goodman. "You're a dancer."
"I really liked it. There's something about you," Carrie Ann Inaba said. "All you need to do is relax a bit."
Meanwhile, Chaz Bono impressed the judges with his "cheeky and joyous" cha cha. The 42-year-old contestant performed last on the season 13 premiere of the hit show with his partner Lacey Schwimmer.
The pair delivered a Latin American routine that amazed the judges and audience alike.
"People have been waiting all night to see you dance and you did not disappoint," judge Carrie Ann Inabagushed, making specific note of his "precise" footwork and "sharp" choreography.
Fellow judge Bruno Tonioli called his routine "cheeky and joyous", while Len Goodman praised his "right attitude" to the show and his ability to "enjoy [himself]" while dancing.
Chaz was placed in the middle of the score board for his cha cha routine with a score of 17/30. The star was proud of his highly-anticipated performance.
"I've gotten so much support and I really wanted to do a good job for the people supporting me," he told co-host Brooke Burke.
"[Physically it's] pretty challenging, but it's fun, and I'm really having the time of my life!"
In 2008, Chaz completed his gender transition from female to male and was legally recognised as a man by the state of California in May 2010.
Chaz has faced a barrage of controversy as a result of his involvement with the show.
Chynna Phillips and partner Tony Dovolani tied with JR Martinez and Karina Smirnoff for first place last night, while Ron Metta World Peace' Artest and Peta Murgatroyd landed at the bottom. (C) Cover Media
