A few Tamil films including '3' and 'Aadukalam' starring Dhanush, 'Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai' directed by Suseenthiran and 'Varnam' have been selected for the New York Indian Film Festival.

While '3' is directed by Aishwarya R. Dhanush and 'Aadukalam' is directed by Vetrimaaran, the film managed to win National Awards. 'Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai' directed by Suseenthiran is inspired by a Tamil novel penned by Bhaskar Sakthi.

'Varnam', a film directed by S. M. Raju, has Monica of 'Azhagi' fame as the lead actress. Dhanush is expected to attend the festival with his wife Aishwarya and Vetrimaaran, since two of his films are being screened.

Howerver, some sources say that he would not turn up for the New York Indian Film Festival, since the National Award winning actor is pre-occupied with work related to his maiden Bollywood venture, 'Raanjhnaa'.
