January 28, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Amercian actor-director Emilio Estevez, who started growing vines in 2005, has become the latest celebrity to make a name in the wine business. He has been the latest flavour for the oenophile with his recent launch Casa dumetz.

Emilio is enjoying success in the business and has made place among the celebrity vintner like Madonna, Lorraine Bracco, Francis Ford Coppola, Kyle MacLachlan and Lil John. There are also other celebrities like Johny Depp, Brad Pitt and David Beckham, who have their own vineyards but they are for personal use exclusively.

But Emilio is really passionate about wine making and stays involved with the process to get bet drink out of it. Mark Meal of Malibu Village Wines says that it is very tough to grow the crop here because the place does not get enough heat. However, the Malibu Village Wines always get out of stock after selling under the name of Casa Dumetz. He said that some people want the brand because of Emilio. It sells mainly because of its name.

During has Brat Pack days, the actor was into wine and knows the stuff very well. He started the business in 2005 while working on Bobby, a biopic on Robert F. Kennedy. His fiancee Sonja Magdevski says that one day she returned home to find that he is ripping up the grass in his backyard in Malibu.

Emilio terms his venture a meditation that helps him in writing scripts. The director adds that he write many dialogues sitting there.
