(Cover) - EN Movies - Emma Thompson has reportedly been talking to Will Smith and Jay-Z about penning an Annie remake.

The 52-year-old British actress has successfully adapted for the big screen in the past, with hits including 1995's Sense and Sensibility, which she starred in and wrote the screenplay for based on the popular Jane Austen novel.

Now it appears Will is eager to capitalise on Emma's writing talent for the remake of Broadway musical Annie which he is producing. According to Vulture, Emma has been in discussions with Will about the project, as well as with Jay-Z who will be providing the soundtrack.

It is not yet known whether Emma would also star in the film about an orphan girl who has the chance to live in luxury. The project was announced back in January and will feature Will's daughter Willow as the title character. There were even claims Glee creator Ryan Murphy could direct. (C) Cover Media
